Saint Francis Welcomes His First Brothers into Heaven, Chiesa di santa Lucia, Vicenza Italy

In this joyful heavenly vision, Saint Francis of Assisi awaits the arrival of his first brothers, who ascend toward him upon the clouds. Francis kneels upon a luminous cloud, raised almost like a celestial pedestal, extending his arms toward the friars as they approach. He wears the traditional brown Franciscan habit, together with a Franciscan crown bearing the Tau, while the wounds of the stigmata are visibly represented.
