INVITATORY

Ant. Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

Come, let us acclaim the Lord,
let us shout with joy to the Rock who saves us;
let us enter his presence with thanksgiving,
acclaiming him with songs.

Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

For the Lord is a great God,
sovereign over all gods:
he holds the depths of the earth in his hand,
the mountain peaks are his;
the sea is his, for he made it,
and the dry land, which his hands fashioned.

Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

Come, let us bow down and worship, blessing the Lord, our Creator. For he is our God, and we are his people, the flock he guides.

Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

If today you hear his voice: "Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on the day of Massah in the wilderness; when your fathers put me to the test and doubted me, though they had seen my works.

Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

For forty years that generation provoked me, and I said: 'They are a people with wayward hearts, who do not acknowledge my ways; so I swore in my anger that they shall not enter into my rest.'"

Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen. Let us adore Christ, the Bridegroom of the Church, as we celebrate the feast of Saint Mary, Queen of the Angels.

HYMN

When young Francis had left behind
worldly revelry and feasts,
a voice from heaven spoke to him:
"Go, Francis, and repair my Church."

And so Francis went forth meekly,
radiating humility and poverty,
asking in the streets and squares:
"Who will give me a stone for alms?"

He set to work as a mason with zeal,
repairing walls and mending cracks,
raising up the humble little church
that would be his treasure on earth.

And he told his sons firmly:
"If one day you are cast out of it,
you shall enter through that window
if they do not let you in by the door."

Little chapel of Saint Mary,
reliquary of holy poverty!
Saint Francis wished to dwell within you
when he saw that death was drawing near.

And its stones stand as silent witnesses
to the sweet final prayer
that Francis, singing in gentle tones,
offered up upon the earth.

Let us give glory to the Father and the Son,
as sweet Francis gave it to them,
and to the Spirit, divine grace,
who comes to dwell within our souls. Amen.

Ant. 1: Blessed among women and blessed in the dwelling of the Lord.

O God, you are my God; I seek you at dawn;
my soul thirsts for you; my flesh yearns
for you, like parched, withered land without water.

How I gazed upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and your glory! Your grace is worth
more than life; my lips shall praise you.
All my life I will bless you, and lift up my hands calling upon you.
You shall satisfy me with exquisite delights,
and my lips shall praise you with joy.

Upon my bed I remember you; through the night watches I meditate on you,
for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I sing for joy;
my soul clings to you, and your right hand upholds me. Ant. 1: Blessed among women and blessed in the dwelling of the Lord.

Ant. 3. I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.

Sing to the Lord a new song; let his praise resound in the assembly of the faithful; let Israel rejoice in its Creator, the children of Zion in their King.

Praise his name with dancing; sing to him with timbrels and harps; for the Lord loves his people and adorns the humble with victory.

Let the faithful celebrate his glory and sing joyfully in their ranks: with shouts of praise to God in their mouths and two-edged swords in their hands: To take vengeance on the peoples
and inflict punishment on the nations, binding kings with shackles and nobles with iron fetters.

To execute the judgment decreed
is an honor for all his faithful ones.

Ant. 3. I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.

BENEDICTUS

Antiphon: Blessed be the Lord, for today he has so exalted your name that it shall always be on the lips of all who remember the power of God. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people, raising up for us a mighty savior in the house of David his servant, just as he had foretold of old through the mouths of his holy prophets.

It is the salvation that frees us from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us; fulfilling the mercy shown to our ancestors, remembering his holy covenant and the oath he swore to our father Abraham.

To grant us that, free from fear and snatched from the hands of our enemies, we might serve Him in holiness and righteousness in His presence all the days of our life.

And you, child, shall be called a prophet of the Most High, for you will go before the Lord to prepare His ways, proclaiming salvation to His people—the forgiveness of their sins.

Through the tender mercy of our God, the Rising Sun from on high will visit us, to shine upon those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our steps into the way of peace.

Antiphon: Blessed be the Lord, for today He has so exalted your name that it shall always be on the lips of all who remember the power of God.

INTERCESSIONS

Let us raise our prayers to the Savior, who chose to be born of the Virgin Mary, and say to Him:
May your Mother, Lord, intercede for us.

Savior of the world, who, through the power of your redemption, preserved your Mother from every stain of sin,
- deliver us from all guilt.

Our Redeemer, who made the Virgin Mary a most pure tabernacle of your presence and a shrine of the Holy Spirit,
- make us, too, temples of your Spirit.

Eternal Word of the Father, who taught Mary to choose the better part,
- help us to imitate her and to seek the food that endures unto eternal life.

King of kings, who raised your Mother to heaven, body and soul, with you,
- grant that we may always aspire to the treasures of heaven.

Lord of heaven and earth, who have placed Mary as Queen at your right hand,
- grant us one day the joy of sharing in that glory.

Spontaneous intentions may be added.

________

Let us turn to the Father with the words that his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, taught us:

OUR FATHER

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit

HYMN
Between the earth and the sky,

a white ladder stands;

to hold it firm,

angels ascend and descend.

And guiding our ascent,

above, you—Star and Anchor.

Our Father Saint Francis

encourages our climb.

Virgin of pure life,

lighten our burden

by obtaining for us from God

forgiveness for our faults.

Mother of sinners,
encourage with your gaze
our faltering steps
toward God, in hope.

Mother-Virgin of Jesus,
Virgin-Mother of souls,
since we are His brothers,
lead us to His dwelling.

And you shall be blessed,
and the most Holy Trinity
—the Father, the Son, the Spirit—
glorified forever. Amen.

Ant. 1: Incline your ear and come to me; listen to me, and you shall live.

What joy when they said to me:
"Let us go to the house of the Lord!"
Already our feet are standing
within your gates, Jerusalem.

Jerusalem is built
as a city firmly compact.
Thither the tribes go up,
the tribes of the Lord,

according to the custom of Israel,
to praise the name of the Lord;
there stand the courts of justice,
the palace of David.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
"May those who love you live secure;
may there be peace within your walls,
security in your palaces."

For the sake of my brothers and companions,
I say: "Peace be with you."
For the sake of the house of the Lord, our God,
I wish you every good.

Ant. 1: Incline your ear and come to me; listen to me, and you shall live.

Ant. 2: The Lord did not abandon us; He gave us the courage to build His house.

If the Lord does not build the house,
the builders labor in vain;
if the Lord does not guard the city,
the sentinels keep watch in vain.

It is useless to rise early,
to stay awake until late,
to eat the bread of your toil:
God gives it to His friends while they sleep!

Children are the inheritance the Lord gives;
the fruit of the womb is a reward:
like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.

Blessed is the man who fills
his quiver with them:
he shall not be defeated when he disputes
with his adversary in the public square.

Ant. 2: The Lord did not abandon us; He gave us the courage to build His house.

_______

Ant. 3 The God of Israel will lead your children to you with joy, in the light of his presence,
with mercy and justice.

Blessed be God,
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the person of Christ
with every kind of spiritual and heavenly blessing.

He chose us in the person of Christ
before the world was created,
that we might be consecrated
and blameless before him through love.

He destined us in the person of Christ,
by his own free initiative,
to be his children,
so that the glory of his grace,
which he has so generously bestowed upon us
in his beloved Son,
might redound to his praise.

Through this Son, through his blood,
we have received redemption,
the forgiveness of sins.
The treasure of his grace, wisdom, and prudence
has been lavished upon us,
making known to us the mystery of his will.

This is the plan
he purposed to carry out through Christ
when the fullness of time arrived:
to bring all things
under Christ as head,
those in heaven and those on earth.

Ant. 3. The God of Israel will lead your children to you with joy, in the light of his presence,
with mercy and justice.

MAGNIFICAT

Antiphon: Blessed Virgin Mary, fount of forgiveness and Mother of Grace, hear us, your children, as we offer our supplications in your presence today.

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation.

He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel for he has remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen.

Antiphon: Blessed Virgin Mary, fount of forgiveness and Mother of Grace, hear us, your children, as we offer our supplications in your presence today.
____________

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

Let us proclaim the greatness of God the Father Almighty, who willed that all generations should call Mary, the Mother of his Son, blessed, and let us beseech him, saying:

Look upon the Full of Grace, and hear us.

O God, ever wonderful in your works, who willed that the Immaculate Virgin Mary should share, body and soul, in the glory of Jesus Christ,
- Grant that all your children may desire and journey toward this same glory.

You who gave us Mary as our Mother, grant through her intercession health to the sick, comfort to the sorrowful, and forgiveness to sinners,
- and to all, an abundance of health and peace.

You who made Mary "full of grace,"
- Grant the abundance of your grace to all people.

Lord, grant that your Church may be of one heart and one soul through love,
- And that all the faithful may persevere in prayer with one accord, together with Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

Spontaneous intentions may be added.

You who crowned Mary as Queen of Heaven,
- Grant that the faithful departed may attain, together with all the saints, the happiness of your kingdom.
