Besides St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Padre Pio are widely considered among the most prominent Franciscan Saints. St. Francis is the founder of the Franciscan order, while St. Anthony was a celebrated follower and preacher within the order. St. Padre Pio, a Capuchin friar, gained significant popularity for his spiritual gifts and stigmata, following the footprints of Saint Francis. 

While both Saint Anthony of Padua and Padre Pio are revered and influential Franciscan saints, St. Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan Order, is widely considered the most influential, followed by St. Clare of Assisi. Saint Anthony is known for his powerful preaching and devotion to the poor and sick, while Padre Pio is known for his miracles and devotion to the poor and sick.

  • St. Anthony of Padua. A renowned preacher and theologian. Known for his powerful sermons, deep knowledge of Scripture, and devotion to the poor and sick. Canonized quickly after his death, becoming one of the most celebrated of Francis of Assisi's followers. 
  • Padre Pio. Known for his miracles and devotion to the poor and sick. His life and ministry have inspired millions of people worldwide. His name is very popular, and he is considered one of the most famous saints in the Church. 
In conclusion, while all these saints are revered, St. Francis and St. Clare are foundational figures in the Franciscan tradition, and St. Anthony and Padre Pio are beloved and influential within the Order, but but they are not considered more important than the figures of the beloved founding fathers, Francis and Clare.
