Saint Margaret Mary of Alacoque was born in 1647 in Burgundy, France. He was educated with the Poor Clares of Charolles. At the age of 24, overcoming family opposition, she entered the Monastery of the Visitation, where she was entrusted, among other positions, to be teacher of novices. 

He led a life of constant spiritual perfection and had a series of mystical revelations about the love of God, revealed in Jesus Christ and symbolized in his Heart; The Lord himself presented Francis of Assisi to her as a Holy model and guide for identification with Him. She had asked the Lord to show her the "Saint who loved his Sacred Heart the most."

Then, the Lord appeared to him in the company of Saint Francis of Assisi, and said to him: "This is the Saint most in love with my Sacred Heart."

Later, the Saint wrote: “After having seen all this, the Divine Spouse, as a token of his love, gave me Saint Francis as the guide of my soul. He would guide me through all the pain and suffering that awaited me."
