Easter Lillies
Easter Sunday finds our churches and private altars filled with many flowers, among them, white lillies (they are also simply known as Easter Lily). Since they have long symbolize purity, hope, innocence and peace, they are commonly associated with the resurrection of Christ. Within the Catholic tradition, an Easter lily means rebirth: a new beginning (this is the reason they are also popular on weddings and baptisms). Lillies are frequently mentioned throughout the bible and have become a visual reminder of the true meaning of Easter. Gracing churches each spring, and specially after 40 somber days of Lent with little to no ornaments at all. Lillies hold a strong association with the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and many other saints such as St. Anthony, St. Dominic and St. Maria Goretti.
