Saint Francis medal

Saint Francis' bronze medal, made at the beginning of the 1600's. Saint Francis is shown praying, in his room, with his writings before him, and a leash to cause himself penance, in order to control "brother ass". With an uncovered head, Francis seeks towards the Crucifix, and a skull, on a secondary plane, reminded him of "sister death". Despite its rather small size, the medal has an incredible detailed work.
