St Francis gives mantle y Giotto 1297
The famous Giotto di Bondone (known among the Franciscan family simply as Giotto) was a painter, muralist, sculptor and architect from Florence, Italy, at the time of the Middle Ages. With his particular touch of Renaissance style, Giotto is credited with the first impressions of scenes from the life of St. Francis. In this scene, found in the upper phase of Basilica of St. Francis, in Assisi, we can see a young Francis, not yet converted, who already had a generous heart, capable of delivering the mantle to another needy man (Fresco of 1297)
